Around SBN: Roy Nelson Willing to Pay for His Next Opponent's Drug Test

The Shanahammer offered Sutton the option of pleading his case in person. I'll stick to my guess of 8-10 games.

In-person = 5+ games, so I think you’re pretty much on the money, here. I don’t feel like it’s as bad as his hit on Landeskog, but the fact that he was just suspended for a head-check six weeks ago means he’s gonna get no mercy.

This is about as close to a slam-dunk as you can get, short of Matt Cooke showing up on the docket.

Looked to me like about a 3 game suspension on its own, combined with the VERY recent history I would start with doubling it for 6 games.

With only 3 games played last night and more suspendable actions than all of last week, if I were Shanahan, I would give him 10 games and stiff back-hand slap.

It’s going to depend on whether “repeat offender” is just a set number of games in addition to the base suspension or if Shanahan makes each appearance worth more and more games. I’ll go with the latter and say he adds on 3-5 games because he’s a repeat offender and he’s a repeat offender thsi year.

I wouldn’t be surprised by 10, that’s for certain. I’d be surprised by 5 again.

You don’t know that reference? I’m more shocked at that than whatever Sutton’s suspension ends up being.

I don’t really watch many player interviews.
