Oilers Assign Ryan O'Marra to Oklahoma City
The Edmonton Oilers have sent Ryan O'Marra back because Anton Lander is once again ready to play. I don't think O'Marra is a very good player, but with Lander coming off an injury and generally not playing all that well to begin with, I think it might have done him some good to go down to the farm for a couple of games. The Oilers, it would seem, do not agree.

Lander might have a better start in North America in the AHL. O’Marra can do the job of a C 4. At some point everyone needs a chance – once

I agree that Lander hasn’t looked good by eye or by numbers (nor Petrell for that matter). However, I’m not altogether sold that O’Mara is a step up in any respect. That said, if all things are equal, it might well be better to have Lander playing bigger minutes in the A to develop his game while O’Mara fills in the fourth line duties.

My thinking. I see Lander as a replacement for C 3, but as a call up from A. Ultimately, it is also about player development and the common future.

He’s an explosive hitter.
