Draft suddenly doesn't seem as deep

+

Redline: We looked at the 2012 crop as having some marquee value at the top end (led by dynamic Russians Nail Yakupov and Mikhail Grigorenko) and very good depth. Oops! Wrong. The injuries, combined with some pretty uninspiring performances from the prospects we were counting on to fill in from the late first through the mid-second rounds, have the scouting community shaking its collective head. What had been perceived as a strong draft year is suddenly looking somewhat barren. There's still time for some of those who have underwhelmed to this point to pick up the pace. But as of mid-November, Red Line's view of the 2012 draft class has soured considerably. Maybe tambo did the right thing asking for the Ducks second round pick next year rather than this year.
