Veteran defenceman Ryan Whitney is expected to be out of the lineup for three weeks with a sprained knee.
The bad (good?) news comes from Joanne Ireland. With seven of the next eight games on the road, many of them against top-notch opponents, Whitney's absence puts the Oilers in a tough spot. On the plus side, it gives Theo Peckham a chance to re-establish himself as an everyday player.

You’re teasing. I really am pulling for the guy, but after last night’s performance…let’s just say it took Sutton to make him look good.
Well, the only guy he needs to beat to get back into the lineup as a regular is Sutton.

If he’s out for three weeks there is absolutely no good reason not to recall Petry. That would give the team some balance.
