Milan Kytnar Assigned to Stockton
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announced the Oilers have assigned center Milan Kytnar to the Thunder from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
An interesting twist in the career of Milan Kytnar as he's assigned to the ECHL's Stockton Thunder. Suffering a lower body injury, Kytnar skated with the team through preseason and beyond, but never cracked the Barons lineup. Could this be a conditioning type assignment with the promise of a return to the Barons for call up reasons? Or is this an attempt to thin a heavy centerman lineup? Perhaps on both accounts. After spending 78 games in OKC last year where he recorded 13 goals and 16 assists, his numbers and role on the squad seemed good enough to remain with the Barons. Nonetheless, here's hoping Kytnar plays well, stays healthy, and continues to improve his game.
