Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Will Never Top Michael Jordan

Brule is day-to-day. He was scratched Friday and Saturday and will likely be a scratch today as well. The team hasn't said much about the issue, since Coach Todd Nelson mentioned Brule had an upper body condition on Wednesday.

Our own Neal Livingston on Gilbert Brule's status in Oklahoma City. Brule has only appeared in one game thus far.

“Day to day” sounds depressingly familiar with this guy. I wonder if this might be some sort of mental health issue. “Upper body” includes the head, right?

Hope he works through whatever it is, he’s a good kid but something is wrong somewhere.

It sure seems like the same thing he was suffering from last season.

… he played 65 games in 2009-10 but had five different absences from the line-up IIRC which were murkily described as “flu” or “illness” or some such. Five different times.

And no one in the media has seemed eager to talk about Brule, or ask too many questions.
Leads you to wonder if they know a lot more than they give out, and are keeping it hush-hush in respect to the issue and the player himself.

With this media, I wouldn't be surprised

When was the last time you heard a truly tough question directed at Renney/Tambellini at an Oilers presser?

I have no idea how to avoid sounding cruel but at the same time getting an answer to this question

If he was diagnosed prior to coming to the Oilers, were the Oilers aware of the diagnosis when they traded for him? If not, was it because they didn’t do their due diligence or did the Blue Jackets obfuscate the information?:
