Hurricanes Sign Patrick O'Sullivan

Carolina signed O'Sullivan to a one-year two-way deal that will pay him $600,000 in the NHL and $105,000 in the AHL. I was pretty surprised that O'Sullivan wasn't able to get a one-way deal from somebody, and I'd be even more surprised if he wasn't able to make a pretty thin forward group in Carolina. One thing this continues to teach us is that being cut by the Edmonton Oilers doesn't do you any favours on the free market: Robert Nilsson and Denis Grebeshkov are off to Europe; Fernando Pisani and Mike Comrie are playing for the league minimum; nobody wants to touch Sheldon Souray; and Marc Pouliot, Ryan Potulny, Ryan Stone, and O'Sullivan have all signed two-way deals.
