Billy Moores - Coordinator of Player Development
The Oilers have moved Billy Moores from the scouting department to the "newly created Player Development department." That's two pieces of good news. Moores has an excellent track record as a coach and is likely well-suited to working with young players, something he did for many years very successfully at the University of Alberta. The creation of the department is also good news. Hopefully Moores and Sillinger can work together to improve both the quality and quantity of communication between the Oilers and their young prospects.

I’m delighted by this news. Coach Moores is a class act and a fine hockey mind. As a fan of hockey in this city generally, I’m also pleased to see the reconnection between the Oilers and Golden Bears which had been weakening of late.
