Around SBN: Events Cause Mariners To Lose To Rangers

Former Oiler Charles Linglet has signed with Torpedo of the KHL (the link is to the Russian website), though it's possible that there's an out in his contract if he gets an NHL offer. Eliteprospects also has the news up (in English!). Torpedo finished out of the playoffs last season but do have a few recognizable names. Their leading scorer is former WHL star Pavel Brendl and their starting goalie is former Oiler draft pick Alexander Fomitchev.

NOT CHUCKLES LINGLET! NOOOOO!

by Benjamin Massey on Jun 29, 2010 6:45 PM MDT reply actions

Tambellini is clearing out the back half of the forward corps(e) and the alphabet. Consider:

Linglet
Moreau
Nilsson
O’Sullivan
PouliotPotulnyPaukovich (the Pianissimo Line?)
Stone next?

I’m afraid my man Zorg might be in serious trouble.

Good on Linglet
Never drafted
Worked his way up from the ECHL
Played a few NHL games
Now making some OK coin in the K
Go Chuck!

Good call, Mr. dB. Got his cup o’ coffee and earned it too. Now when he plays in the K he’ll be “former NHLer Charles Linglet” or even “former Oiler Chuck Linglet”. Good on ’im.

The opportunities afforded to guys like Linglet and Arsene were among the higher points of that last, lost season.

My counterpoint is that they were both really, really terrible.

You remember how the CinO guys christened Allan Rourke “Hot Doorknob”? Chuckles Linglet was “Smoke billowing under the doorframe as the carbon monoxide alarm beeps wildly and you strangely feel like having a nap.”
