A Look Back at the FA Goalies of 2009
Derek's favourite ex-commenter Ender dives into the stats of last year's free agent crop. While many on this forum have argued that Khabibulin was a colossal fuck-up of a move, it turns out that most of the other available goalies were also pretty useless.

But they were 1/3 to 1/2 half the cost and 1/4 the term.

Oh, I agree, I don’t think there’s much sense in paying more money over a longer term for mediocre goaltending out of a guy with a the longest injury rap sheet this side of Rick DiPietro, and I don’t think it bodes well for the future in terms of Tambo et al’s cap management skills, but as Ender sees it, for this year anyway, it’s kind of irrelevant, since the copious number of injuries to both key players and depth players (Alex Plante and Charles Linglet being this year’s Allan Rourke, in terms of hot doorknob-ness) had us pretty much doomed to the lottery regardless.
Plus, if Khabi’s done-done, LTIR will give Tambo the mulligan he needs to sign Marty Turco. ;)
