Well, so much for seeing what Ryan Jones can do.  Word has come down from the Oilers that Jones has a torn MCL, the result of an "errant" (i.e. carefully placed) knee from Derek Boogaard.  Boogaard was suspended for two games for the hit which is ridiculous but pretty standard fare for the NHL so it's not worth getting upset over.  I would have liked to have seen Jones play a few more times this season to get a better idea of what should be expected from him and I'm sure management feels the same (Tambellini loves evaluating).  But as much as it's a tough break for the Oilers it's likely even worse for Jones.  With some good play he probably could have established himself somewhat for next season.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that's going to happen and, as such, he'll probably be penciled in as a 4th line or press-box option heading into next year.
