Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

While some might want or expect to see Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson in this spot, I go with Eberle because of his penchant for filling the net at clutch times.

Coming Down The Pipe with yet another example of people not being able to get away from the "CLUTCH!!!!" narrative. On a scale of 1 - 10 Eberles, Jordan Eberle is 11.

I’ve noticed that Chris Drury became much less “clutch” when he no longer had Forsberg to draw the defender and pass him the puck while he was wide open. Funny how that works.

No he hasn’t… they talk about his clutchness all the time, he must still be clutch.

Pierre McGuire told me so!

So will Eberle be. His best chance is if MPS is on his line, Pierre will be so busy raving about him that Eberle might slip under the radar a little bit.

MPS, Gagner, and Eberle could be the best goals-per-inch scoring line in NHL history.

Wait, there’s a new unit of Clutch? I thought the Drury was the unit of clutch. Or is the Eberle the metric version?

And no, this joke isn’t inconsistent with my established stance: I can believe in clutch while mocking the media’s flagrant abuse of the concept.

Your belief in clutch is predicated upon your scale.
