Oklahoma City Wildcatters?

via farm1.static.flickr.com

Prodigal Hockey, LLC continues to reserve possibly every oil-related domain name beginning with "okc" or "ok" for their new AHL franchise.  Pumpjacks, however, gets no love.

Star-divide

The name the team contest seems to have some influence on the Oilers and Prodigal as today the OKC Slackers message board found that the OKC Wildcatters domain had been reserved and a quick check shows that they OK Wildcatters domain has also been reserved.   Prodigal is up to eight domains and eight possible team names now.

The Texas Wildcatters were an ECHL team affiliated with the Florida Panthers that closed down in 2008, so you can get a sense of the type of logo the Wildcatters might have.

I believe that took that domain out for consideration, if you try to go to it. It gives you a server not responding error in the web browser.

The Texas Wildcatters lived in the ECHL for a few seasons in the early 00’s.
