Congratulations to the few remaining Falcons fans who brave the despair to keep reading us. Columbus should be a good parent.

While the Jackets are not the parent I was hoping for, it’s pretty obvious that the Falcons’ options were limited. Bruce Landon said a while back that the local ownership was only committing fiscally to one more season. Probably not the vote of confidence that some other prospective partners wanted to hear.
Bottom line, having hockey is better than no hockey. This year’s CBJ affiliate (Syracuse Crunch) are currently 8 points better than the Falcons, so hey…who knows?
BTW, there is a new website that recently started about the history of hockey in Springfield.
One last thing, Jordan Eberle has been assigned to the Falcons, so hopefully the final few weeks of the Oilers affiliation will close out on a positive note!

Enjoy Eberle, Springfield fans, and drop us a line or better yet, a FanPost about his play with the Falcons.
w.r.t. Columbus, have no fear, Kevin Lowe taught Scott Howson everything he knows!
