Oilers vs. Flyers, 50 in 39 - Liveblog!

An excellent live blog of a happier time for Edmonton fans - December 30, 1981 - the night of 50 in 39.  Wayne Gretzky scored five goals in one game (before the Safeway Score and Win Contest) with the Daves, Lumley and Semenko on his wings.  B.C.B. at Bringing Back The Glory live blogs the events with some outstanding descriptions of the game.  The current Oilers would kill for someone that could score 17 goals in 35 games.

NHL Video has the highlights, though B.C.B.'s descriptions are a necessary read before watching each goal:
