The Copper & Blue Store And FanPost Giveaway - WINNER NAMED

Photo

We've sold out.  We've gone corporate.  That's right, The Copper & Blue now has an online store where you can buy Copper & Blue-related apparel.  We have a few items for sale now and we're working on designs for the future.  For now though, we're going to celebrate the grand opening of our store with a contest and a giveaway. As you all know, Nikolai Khabibulin was recently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and speeding in Scottsdale, Arizona shortly after midnight on February 8th.  He was pulled over in his Ferarri for travelling 70 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone.  He now faces driving under the influence (DUI) and speeding charges in Scottsdale.  We've not had much to say about it (and believe me, we've had to sedate and restrain Ben in order to keep him from writing about this) because we want to know what you have to say.

Star-divide

Use the FanPost feature at the right and let us know what you think of The Bulin Wall's adventures.  We're looking for biting commentary on Khabibulin's Arizona troubles and we're willing to give a free T-shirt to the best entry.  It can be funny or scathing, it can be a web-comic or it can be a rant.  The writers here will vote on your entries and the best one gets their choice of a Zorg T-shirt, or a Copper & Blue T-shirt or a Copper & Blue tuque as shown below.

Have an idea for a shirt?  Let me know and we'll get it in the store.

We have a winner!

Permaculture has won with an excellent look at the situation and a fantastic closing line.  Thanks also to SumOil for his entry and his amazing closing line as well

Permaculture, please use the white courtesy phone and email me at the address in my profile!

Thanks to all!

“Priceless” isn’t quite the word, cuz the price is very steep indeed. Treble indemnity: term, cap hit, and the uncertainty that will hover over the crease for up to three more years beyond this woebegotten season.

Of all the big money contracts the Oilers have committed to in recent years, and there have been some doozies, the Khabibulin deal is shaping up to be the worst. Not saying he can’t turn it around, but early returns are not good to put it as mildly as possible. And because of the uh, singularities of the position, there is less room for error between the pipes. Shawn Horcoff for example can work off a considerable portion of his cap hit even as a 3C; whereas a 3G is of no use to anybody, and a 1G/LTIR G is likely as disruptive as he is useful.

Oh I get it, the Mastercard commercial knock-off. Sure, I’ll give humour points for that. Make a FanPost!

But this is the comments section and I’m not eligible for the contest so I don’t have to be funny. From an Oiler fan’s perspective, the whole Khabibulin havoc is horridly hopeless.

Not really, but I do have some idea of what a toque looks like.
