Dubnyk Recalled; Pitton Down
So, Devan Dubnyk was back on the bench last night against the Anaheim Ducks. The big change in this little swing is that Bryan Pitton hasn't been sent to Stockton but to Springfield of the AHL. Pitton's numbers in the past have been... very poor. But this year in the ECHL Pitton has actually done quite well, posting a save percentage of .921 in 22 games. Hey! That's actually pretty good! It seems likely that Pitton will start getting into some games with the Falcons now and if he has some success could actually be moving up the depth chart to "AHL backup" for next season. I'm just glad someone's having a good season.
As for Dubnyk's time in Springfield, it didn't go that well. In two starts he had one good one (a 3-2 win) and one bad one (a 7-6 loss). Add it together and Dubnyk stopped 64 of 73 shots for a save percentage of .877. This man will be starting for the Edmonton Oilers tonight in Los Angeles.
