We have J.F. that's in a position to, you know, he's got to get himself cleared to play, naturally, but that would be a spot that we would use there. I think he's ready to go full contact. We're contemplating now if we should allow that to start in Oklahoma City as a conditioning stint, and take it from there.
— That's Tom Renney addressing what the Oilers plan to do with the roster spot that will be available once Deslauriers clears (or is claimed off) waivers. I didn't think Jacques was ready yet, but it sounds like he is, which helps to answer the "What's changed?" question I had been asking. With Jacques presumably healthy, the Oilers were forced into making a decision, and Deslauriers ended up being the odd man out.
