Martin Marincin Continues To Prove Critics Wrong
Even more ridiculous - 13 GP, 6 G, 9 A, 15 P and a +10.
Not bad for a kid who was unknown and has skating problems. He's also finally made himself known to Oiler employees.

He really shoved it up the backsides of all his critics.

Why is there so much backside talk when it comes to Edmonton prospects?

So much backside talk? I thought it was mostly poop talk (related to backsides, I suppose), although maybe that’s just Ben.
Go Marincin! Not shabby for a rookie d-man, period. Oilers d-man depth is looking better than expected.

Stop
The Oilers aquired Nash by trading 2 picks to move up in the ’07 draft. He was eventually flipped for the second round pick that the Oilers used to select Marincin.
So the real tally here is #21 (Nash) + #30 + #36 in exchange for the #46 (Marancin). It doesn’t matter how good or bad the actual picks have turned out. Drafting players is a crap shoot. Managing assets is not.
Stop what? Enjoying that the Oilers might have actually ended up better off despite this whole Nash debacle. And you can’t combine both trades in assessing them. The first trade clearly gave up too much to jump 9 spots. But the second trade so far seems to be just fine since it looks the Oilers didn’t underestimate Nash’s pro value as was speculated at the time.
if any of the players drafted at those positions turn out to be better than Marincin, then we lose the trade
I disagree with this line of thinking Sum. If the Oil trade Hemsky for a 6th rounder and the pick becomes Datsyuk, is it a good trade?
Yeah you are right.
My second sentence was directed at double DD. he was only comparing Nash and Marincin,
I was pointing him to look at 30 and 36 as well.
Sins can be forgiven but conscience is a killer.
I saw Marincin live a couple weeks ago and he was terrific. 1-1-2, +4, and played an outstanding game.

I’m really confused by Prince George right now. Blades castoff D Sena Acoltese is pretty much matching Marincin’s numbers, and he had never shown much of anything previously.
