Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

Two goals from Linus Omark, the second of which looks like a goal that the Oilers would normally give up. Linus Omark, the one-man cycle.

He’s also apparently a one-man team. I wonder how many times he passes the puck over the course of a game. I don’t think I’ve ever actually watched him play, but based on all the highlights over the years, he appears to be constructed entirely out of Ales Hemsky antimatter.

So you’re saying that an Omark – Horcoff – Hemsky line isn’t going to work?

It came to mind for me too, especially watching the second goal. Most players would have passed to the man in the corner after his second-to-last turn. I’m not sure I follow the Hemsky antimatter line but that might just be because I don’t really know how antimatter works. I took it to mean that they’re super different players but he actually reminded me a bit of Hemsky in terms of his desire to hold onto the puck. I don’t know if they’d like playing together though, if that’s what you meant.

I was more referring to Hemsky’s reputation of being a pass-first player. I wasn’t referring to his penchant for holding onto the puck. To be honest, I didn’t even think of that part of it.

Like I said though, I’ve never actually watched the guy play. I’m just going off the hlightes

18G 12A – maybe there is something to it.

He’s responsible for 12.9% of Dynamo’s goals, and 5.3% of their assists

I’ll ask Johan about it. Maybe he can get a better scouting report on him.

Hemsky doesn’t pass first, he carries the puck first. In that sense what I’m seeing of Omark is somewhat similar.

That said, Ales usually does pass the puck eventually.

Where is Omark in the KHL leading scorers list? Where would one find that info (in English, if possible)?

30 points in 49 games. Not bad for the second-best league in the world at 19.

Incidentally, I love how en.khl.ru is basically the regular khl.ru run through Babel Fish. Because they clearly can’t afford an English-speaker who can turn that word salad into something intelligible.
