"It's really been hard mentally. You don't get to this level without caring about what you do and this has been hard. It has been hard on the fans, too. The city deserves a good team and we're going through a tough situation."
-- Patrick O'Sullivan, player, Edmonton Oilers, on the team's current 10-game losing streak
"It's hard. I'm not going to lie to ya. This has been the hardest portion of my professional career. I'm 37 years old and I've been in this business a long time. These kids are 16 and 17 ... it's a learning experience and it's a business and we have to get better."
-- Steve Pleau, head coach, Edmonton Oil Kings, on the team's current 14-game losing streak
"Would you like pancakes with that?"
-- Kevin Lowe, President of Hockey Operations, Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club
OK, I made that last one up. But I'm getting mighty tired of hearing more noise from the organization's heavy hitters on the new arena front than on the matter of developing a couple of good teams to put in it. Both Edmonton-based teams remain winless in 2010 for goodness sake. Is it a plot to infuse so many bad memories in the current building that folks will be all in favour of getting the hell out of there?
