Who is the Oilers' Number One Prospect?

via cdn.picapp.com

We're about ready to rework our top twenty-five prospect list [found on the front page on the left sidebar] and in doing so, the staff here at The Copper & Blue would like your take on who we should crown #1.  We've come to a consensus that eight players have seperated themselves from the pack and could be in the running for the number one slot.  Below the jump are the stats for each candidate using the outstanding work of Gabriel Desjardins and his NHL Equivalency models.  Vote for the prospect you see as the brightest light in the system and tell us why you voted that way in the comments.

That picture of Riley Nash is appalling. I also can’t believe that the consensus is Eberle is a better prospect than MPS.

by mc79hockey on Jan 23, 2010 12:30 PM MST reply actions

MPS has never scored a big goal in his life!

And, on a serious note, a goal-per-game pace on the crummy Regina Pats is nothing to sneeze at.

by Benjamin Massey on Jan 23, 2010 12:44 PM MST up reply actions

Besides, at 47% Eberle, 45% Magnus PoS, there’s no real consensus at all!

by Benjamin Massey on Jan 23, 2010 12:46 PM MST up reply actions

And Eberle pulls away…

The real consensus is that Oilers have two solid prospects and a whole bunch of question marks.

You believe it, but you’re just grumbling right? This is the new hockey jebus, for goodness sake.

Hartikainen

It’s great that Härski has a vote, and it’s not from me.

Now he’s got two! Neither of them are from me.

Teemu presumably has a mom and pop. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are ardent C&B readers.

Pierre Maguire

Pierre says that the Magnus would be an elite first liner in the NHL RIGHT NOW and that he would be the Oilers’ best forward RIGHT NOW.

Who am I to argue with Pierre and his level headed stances, always presented in an understated and subtle manner.

Reading between the lines I think that while Lander may be a MONSTER and Eberle is CLUTCH BABY CLUTCH I think that MPS’ STRONG MUSCULAR THIGHS will carry the day going forward.
