Quinn on Strudwick
"He's one of those terrific soldiers you're happy to have around," said Quinn. "He's a leader. His teammates value his contributions.
"We took him out of the lineup because maybe on a skill basis, you start thinking we have six defencemen who might be a little better, but we started to feel like maybe we missed his steadiness."
That's great and all, but the only player on the team with a worse Scoring chance differential is Ethan Moreau.

Yeah
Struds!…1G1A tonight and all is forgotten/forgiven. Oilers come away with 2P in Col, I can feel it. My generous hope is based upon the Ducks coming back on the Flames yesterday so somehow in my mind the powers that be will toss some goodwill Oilers way.
This seems to happen with certain guys every so often. I don’t know if the coaches just like them or if they are a great “dressing room” presence or what, but it rarely works out for the club on the ice.
The same thing happened with Rhett Warrener here in town. Sutter bent over backwards to keep the guy around despite his contract being a millstone and Warrener clearly being past his best before date. He now has a scouting job with the franchise I believe.
maybe we missed his steadiness
This is the weird part to me. He’s anything but steady.

He’s stable emotionally. Doesn’t get upset when he gets scored against, no matter how often. Great role model.
