Anaheim Comes Calling for Moreau
In what has to be the best news in recent Oilers history, Anaheim general manager Bob Murray has asked Steve Tambellini about Ethan Moreau's availability. If true, this could finally be the shovel that Tambellini needs to dig out from under the Oilers' cap problems. Should Tambellini choose not to move Moreau, this could be the shovel that he uses to dig his own career grave.

See, here’s where Tambellini has to be careful not to overplay his hand. It’s a mistake I might have made. If I’m GM of the Oilers and someone calls me to ask if Ethan Moreau is available, I’d say “whatever you want to give me, he’s yours” before he’d even finished the sentence and I’d wind up blowing the deal.
Tambellini should hem and haw and open with “Corey Perry and a second-rounder” or something. Make it look like this particular turd has some shine.

Make it Corey Perry or a second rounder, might make Murray think he’s getting a good deal.
