Might we see a nickname focused on rodeo? Broncos? Toros? Wranglers?

OKC name?

I don’t think we will see a Rodeo name for the team name. More then likely it will continue to be the Blazers(ugh!). Me, personally would like to see an oil themed name for the OKC team. Like the Oklahoma City Roughnecks, as it’s my only suggestion. Cause I think it would build a relationship between Edmonton and Oklahoma City. Since both cities are oil towns, and share alot in common. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Blazers’ name, but it’s time to let the past behind.

Blazers would be great though – they have a rich tradition.

True, it does have a rich tradition. It wouldn’t pain me too much, if the name remained the same. Just as long as the Mascot isn’t a freaking horse!

Connect the Dots?

Phone calls have been going out to some former season ticket holders here, about what name they would like to see for pro hockey in OKC. Also that during the AHL all-star break, that the Board of Governors will be meeting. I wonder what might be on the agenda?
