Central Scouting releases midterm rankings

Central Scouting released mid-term rankings today for all skaters, and Taylor Hall tops the list for North American skaters with Tyler Seguin close behind.  My preference, Cam Fowler, is ranked 3rd.  Finnish center Mikael Granlund continues to top the European rankings.  Learn the list folks - as the Oilers continue their push to the bottom, these names are going to be tossed around often.

Everyone knows the top five skaters, but what about the 31st and 32nd skaters?  When the Oilers make their second choice, there should be some talent available, who will it be?

UPDATE:  Western College Hockey has an analysis of the college skaters on the list.

If Kirill Kabanov or Stanislav Galiev fall in the rankings due to the Russian factor, I’d scoop them up in the second round for sure.

Also, there appears to be another Sutter in the draft this year. Any idea if Brody is related to the famed bloodline? Big body at 6’4".

Brian, Brent, Brett, Brody … seems to fit the profile of five-letter names starting with Br. Luckily for me, the name Bruce Sutter has already been claimed by a baseball Hall of Famer, a relief ace who won a World Series with my St. Louis Cardinals. (His name is pronounced “Suter” like Gary and Ryan, but spelled like the larger hockey-playing family of Sutters .)

Anyway, Brody is Duane’s kid.
