"We have 18 games until the Olympic break. We are going to use this time to find out who wants to be here and who doesn't. This is our big evaluation stage to determine our long-term future."
Steve Tambellini comments on near-term roster decisions.
I'm not an expert personnel man by any means, but shouldn't this "big evaluation stage" have taken place over the course of the last eighteen months? Are we to believe that two training camps and 126 games aren't enough to properly evaluate players, but that the next eighteen games are going to make all of the difference?

Couldn’t agree more. Since Katz/Tambellini, this team has been in evaluation mode.
“Ok, I just came on here, I better evaluate this team”
“Ok, this team is playing horribly… the coach has been here a while… I’ll evaluate his performance now”
“Ok, this team is still horrible, but the coach is different, we need to re-evaluate the players”
I don’t know how many fans the Oilers have, but I think a large amount of them can pin-point which players are the problem by now because we’ve been watching this team fail for 3.5 years now. If they just want to stall until the trade deadline, that’s fine. But I think we all know who disappears under pressure and who comes out.

You mean the 2012 trade deadline?
It’s Mr. Dithers’ M.O. dither about and blame injuries or something.
