Promoted To Vice-President of Remembering The '80's

That line was from one of the more acerbic Oilogosphere commentaters (Dennis, I believe) in reference to where Kevin Lowe would go when the Oilers' ownership tired of him in the general manager's position.

While I can't pretend to be nearly as good at remembering the 80's as, say, Bruce, circumstances have forced me to take a step back from handling all of the day-to-day operations at this site.  With that in mind, I have passed the reins over to Derek Zona, who will be running the site from here on out.  I have complete confidence that he'll do a fantastic job.

I will of course remain on board as a contributor.

Life after Gretzky

Onwards and upwards, JW. Best of luck in the new gig (I’ll leave it to you to announce the details). We’ll miss you but will look forward to your more occasional contributions here, not to mention your ongoing presence elsewhere.

Luckily we got Mark Messier right here in the room, ready to take on the captaincy. Congrats on the promotion, Derek; keep those good ideas flowing!

Messier

The only similarities between Messier and I are the shaved-clean heads.

JW or the 'Suitcase': new Willis nicknames

Congrats Willis, if what ever Bruce is cryptically talking about is true . . . I am sure this site will be fine, as it has three of my favorite four bloggers as writers.

I have a question for Jonathon “Suitcase” Willis (really 4 blogs in a 1.5 years): Why so much blogger movement? I mean I thought the CBA was suppose to reduce the age of free agency, but you can’t even seem to finish a season on any one blog.

PS: as a UFA, I am willing to sell my services to any bidder (doesn’t matter how low), as a modern blogger I have no loyalty to my site, ‘it just a business’.

that was directed to BCB as a joke….
Derek, you’re gonna do real well running the show here. Congrats on the promotion!
JW, you’re so bloody prolific anyway, do you really need a title? Good luck with whatever new project is taking you away from here full-time. I hope this gig pays!

We'll just see what happens...

Circumstances mean that I won’t be able to keep up the pace here, so it was only fitting that Derek take over. I’ll leave it at that for now.
