Ex-Oilers' Captain Jason Smith Retires

Smith played parts of eight seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, and came into his own as a nasty shutdown defenseman. He was a mainstay on the pre-salary cap teams and an important presence on the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals team. He captained the Oilers for five seasons and was also named captain for one season in Philadelphia.
