Mike Morrison Signs With Florida

Devel_medium

Former Oilers' goaltender Mike Morrison (pictured above) is back in North america after spending two seasons in Europe.  The 1998 7th round draft pick has signed a deal with the Albany River Rats, and will likely start the season with their ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.

Morrison was one of the few bright spots of the Oilers goaltending circa 2005-06, playing 25 of his 29 NHL games that season and (despite posting the same shoddy save percentage and GAA) generally winning more games than counterparts Ty Conklin and Jussi Markkanen.

It's a nice signing by Albany; before he left North America Morrison had a pretty decent season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.
