It's getting into the month of August.. almost a little over a month before training camp. Though the Edmonton OIlers have done nothing to note, They lost 39 year old goalie Dwayne Roloson to the New York Islanders and replace him with 36 year old Nikolai Khabibulin, a little but of a upgrade if you add that Khabibulin has won a stanley cup (2004 with the Tampa Bay Lighting). They trade 1 of there 2 best faceoff man from last year(the other being Shawn Horcoff) Kyle Brodziak to the Minnesota Wild and let Ales Kotalik go to the New York Rangers while wait for Dany Heatley to make up is mind were he wants to play next season.

We all know that Dany Heatley doesn't want to play here and the last thing the Edmonton Oilers need right now is another Chris Pronger. Though unlike Brain Burke, I think the Pronger one was worse. At least Heatley told everyone want the problem was. But the Pronger thing to this day no one knows why he wanted to leave. Rumors were that his Wife was was crying to go to the USA again, which is why he never when to Toronto. Anyway The Edmonton Oiler have been going after Heatley for the last month. They when to his summer house in Kelowna, BC..even send him some tapes of Oiler Highlights.  Rumors are not that the San Jose Shanks are in the mix still and If there is a deal Heatley will no doubt go to San Jose in stead of Edmonton!!

So who will the Oilers get when the Heatley Sage finallt ends??? Rumors are the Oilers are interest in Phil Kessel out of Boston, also the Oilers are interested in Cheechoo out of San Jose and Zherdev or of The New York Ranger. Only Time will tell if The Oilers waiting on Heatley costs the Edmonton Oilers a chance of getting a good player or most importantly getting to the playoff for the 1st time in 3 years!!!
