Around SBN: Tiger Woods Makes His 2012 PGA Tour Debut

Meanwhile, 300 km up Highway 2, rumours persist that Edmonton GM Steve Tambellini is shopping one of his four offensive defenceman in an attempt to kickstart the rebuild in Edmonton.

We’re hearing Sheldon Souray to Los Angeles — where his children live with his ex-wife, a long distance relationship that Souray has found taxing through two seasons in Northern Alberta. The package coming back would include defenceman Jack Johnson, and we’re guessing a forward with some grit, like a Wayne Simmonds.

I’m not a champion of trading Sheldon Souray, because I think he brings things none of the other offensive D can, but that seems like an okay package to me, if that’s the route Tambellini’s insistent on.

I want no part of Johnson. Frolov + Simmonds would interest me though.

Not if the rumours about his contract demands are true. Actually, even if they aren’t, he’s probabyl overrated.

Link to his demands?

Well, this isn’t quite it, but his dad contacted the KHL about playing there. What I heard on XM was 5MM/yr.

Arbitration?

Sounds like a perfect candidate for Arbitration

by Derek Zona on Jun 29, 2009 9:33 PM MDT up reply actions

He's not eligible for arbitration

Also, the rumored figure was $5.5MM, and Lombardi said it was total b.s.. Doesn’t mean he won’t get traded, or that he’s not asking for more than Lombardi is willing to pay. But the $5.5MM figure was apparently totally made up.

Hard to know if he’s over-rated. He hasn’t played enough.

Yuck. Those stats are awful. Unless he was starting every shift in his own zone, he’s got a long ways to go before being able to dictate contract terms.

Package

I like that plenty if there’s a pick in there.

Dump Moreau and at $48 million (including Roloson and RFA’s reupped) and we have a conversation.

It may be a three-way. Souray to LA. Heatley to Edmonton. Johnson plus to Ottawa.

That I could handle.
