But even as Oilers GM Steve Tambellini is evaluating coaching candidates from his own inner circle – and three with ties to the Vancouver Canucks, from Pat Quinn to Marc Crawford to Tom Renney, all make sense on some level – he will almost certainly wait for [Brent] Sutter to decide on his own future with the Devils, before making a coaching hire for next season. There is no real compelling hurry and if Sutter did become available after all, it might be the perfect marriage.
