"Pond Hockey", The Movie

Is there room for the free spirit of the pond in today’s sports experience, or will the open sky and howling winds give way to whistles and metal ceilings?

--Tag line for "Pond Hockey"

We received a note in the C&B inbox the other day -- the marketing folks at SnagFilms thought we might like to link to one of the movies that they are currently showing.  My first instinct was to skip it, but the SBN hockey writers group said that they movie was both "solid" and "fantastic", so I checked it out.

Star-divide

I'm really glad I did.  Pond Hockey is, in fact, an outstanding film.  The film is based mostly on Minnesota Pond Hockey, but the filmmakers do a fine job with the tradition, including interviewing Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby.

You can watch the film in it's entirety below or you can visit SnagFilms at the "Pond Hockey" link.

It's easier to watch with a high-speed connection with headphones, but carve out an hour and fifteen minutes -- the film is well worth it.
