"Jags and I text back and forth. I talked to him about six weeks ago. He's on our radar. He has NHL years ahead of him. No question."

We all know tat Jagr could be playing in the NHL. The question is for how long and at what price. If we end up with another grandpa with a multi-year >2.5 million dollar contract, then the Oilers are fuck till I get a job.

I don’t know about this. If the Oilers hadn’t dithered around two summers ago we could have had Jagr for the last two seasons. Sure, it would’ve been kind of pricy, but you know what, it’s Jaromir Jagr! We’re talking about one of the best players of our generation. And if he wants to retire we can just get out of the cap hit by putting him on unconditional waivers and then have him “not report.” Bada-bing, he’s a UFA. The Devils got out of Shanahan’s cap hit like that.
