SB Nation's New Look

The tech team rolled out the changes this morning and overall, it's a big positive.  There are a few kinks to work out, but the team is already hard at work on fixing those bugs.

We're aware that comments no longer have paragraph breaks, and we're also aware of some layout issues with Firefox.

As a software guy, my first reaction was that there wasn't enough testing, but these are minor bugs that will be corrected quickly.

Constructive criticism and your own bug reports welcomed below.

Don’t know about you guys, but I’m not a fan of the new roll-out. The white space makes everything “cleaner” I guess, but it also makes everything blander. Some items of the site seem to float almost randomly while everything else seems to run together. In addition, most of the sites look pretty much the same, aside from different colored fonts.

I have a terrible aesthetic memory and a deep distrust of change. I already don’t really remember what the old site format looked like but I still like it better than this one because it’s what I’m used to. If they change back in three months I’ll want this one back because I’ll have gotten used to it. So long as things don’t look terrible I’ll get used to it in a day or two, which I’m sure will be the case here. Now, if the new format prevents that top banner add from falling out of place further into the page, then I’ll come to like it very quickly!

The whitespace has to go. There is no structure at all now.

I agree 100% on that one.

I thought that was kind of weird, too, but didn’t want to say anything. I mean, I know why I’m not on LT’s blogroll anymore — I update about eight times a year — but C&B?

SNN Sports - A theoretical Oilers blog (i.e. theoretically, I write stuff there). Link now 100% less broken.

I’m not sure what the rules of blogrolls are. Maybe we need more updates :)
