I was just looking around at capgeek.com and noticed that they've reported that Fernando Pisani was placed on long-term injured reserve when Sheldon Souray was activated.  Although I haven't been able to find confirmation elsewhere, capgeek has been very reliable with this sort of things in the past.  Assuming the report is accurate, Pisani will need to miss at least 10 games and 24 days before he's eligible to return to the lineup which means the earliest he could be back in the lineup is at home on December 7th in a game against the Florida Panthers. 

The fact that Pisani flew back home in the middle of the road trip was a tell that things were serious.  This is another.  I feel bad saying it but in the six games Pisani played this year he hasn't been good, and he wasn't good in camp either.  This season could well be it for the man who plucked our heartstrings in the Spring of 2006.  Nonetheless, I wish Fernando Pisani nothing but the best and, who knows, maybe the league will give him a make-up Masterton at the end of the season.
