The Dead Are Raised - O'Marra Recalled

TSN is reporting that Ryan O'Marra has been called up from Springfield and, as you can tell by the open slot in the game preview, will actually play tonight against the Senators.  Now, O'Marra is a former first round pick and was part of the return from Long Island in the Ryan Smyth trade, so if he was even half-way decent you'd expect this kind of thing.  But, you know what, you could've won some money from me if you'd taken "O'Marra will play an NHL game in 2009-10" in a bet.  Probably a lot of money.  This is a guy who went 1-9-10 in 62 games taking on the softs last year in the AHL and now he's an NHL player.  Ho.  Ly.  Shit.  Well, good luck to you Lazarus; I hope you enjoy your first NHL game.

The reason for the recall is that Robert Nilsson has suffered a concussion.  He'll be out of the lineup tonight and may never get back in if other forwards get healthy before he does.  In more injury news, Taylor Chorney sprained his ankle and is listed as day-to-day but Ladislav Smid is good to go so the Oilers will have a full roster tonight.
