Chuck Kobasew Resigned by Boston
TSN.ca is reporting that Kobasew has agreed to a 3yr/7M dollar contract. Kobasew has settled in as a 20-goal, 40-point guy on Boston, although his numbers might have been a little higher with a different team.Although Kobasew's game is quite a bit different from that of Robert Nillson, Nilsson is 3 years younger and posted more points this season. Does anyone doubt that contract was a bargain?
And, while we're on the subject, what does this do for Curtis Glencross' agent? We know that Glencross' 15 goals in 62 games (very similar GPG rate to Kobasew) was based on an unrepeatable shooting %, but the boxcar numbers and age are similar enough that I doubt he signs for much under 2M/season. And if that's the line in the sand, Lowe should let him walk.

Nilsson is a bargain. GX should sign for 1.25 one year. He is a good fit in Edmonton, MacT would give him minutes and if he is confident in his ability, the next contract should be a good increase. Otherwise, insisting on 2 million is a bad career move cause the Oilers will (I hope) let him walk.
